Jocelyn Soriano is an introvert who enjoys reading books, listening to the cello, and watching Korean dramas with her family. She is currently single and happy, and she would like everyone to know how happy we can be by drawing close to the love of God!
Soriano is the author of To Love an Invisible God, Defending My Catholic Faith, and Mend My Broken Heart. She also wrote books on poetry, including Poems of Love and Letting Go and Of Waves and Butterflies: Poems on Grief. She has published more than 15 books and developed her own Android applications, including God’s Promises and Catholic Answers and Apologetics. She also writes about relationships and common questions about God and the Catholic faith at Single Catholic Writer.
When asked what she enjoys about contributing to Patheos she told us, “What I love most about contributing to Patheos is the opportunity to help draw people closer to God’s love. Amid this secular and troubling world, I would like to be a voice that reminds others about His presence and existence. God is real. And God is Someone who loves us most. If I can touch but a single soul with that life-changing message, I know that I have not worked in vain.”
She has this advice to offer to other writers.
- Pray, Let the source of your work be your communion with Him from whom all good things come. Your message would be more authentic and powerful when it comes from your personal experience of God’s beauty, wisdom, and love.
- Persevere, Don’t give up even if you feel that people are not reading your work. If you feel called to write, then write with all your might and leave the results to the Lord. Perseverance will not only harness your skills. It would also help you grow spiritually. By growing spiritually, you can share more with your readers.
- Read more, Read more so that you can write more. Read the Bible and the classic books for inspiration. Read the blogs of your fellow writers. Do this and you will not run out of ideas for writing.
