According to the ARAM Society’s web site, their next conference on the Mandaeans will be at the University of Stockholm in Sweden, in April 2012. Some of the information there is simply copied and pasted from the last conference in Oxford, and the date of that conference changed from that originally scheduled, so one shouldn’t make hard and fast plans at this stage. Nevertheless it is good to see that the next conference is “in the works” and I think Sweden would be a wonderful venue. I’ve never been, but my favorite composer (Kurt Atterberg) was Swedish (you can listen to a few pieces by him online – his Horn Concerto, and some others on YouTube – but not my favorite, the second movement of his Symphony No.2). So I hope I can manage to attend!
