Our citizenship is in the Kingdom of God. Jesus showed no undue loyalty to his Jewish religion nor to his Roman-occupied Jewish country. He radically challenged them both and exposed their corruption while warning against the idolatrous relationships that most people have with their country and their religion. Idolized loyalty to anything but the Kingdom of God justify violence and abuse in almost every form and ignore much of the central teachings of Christ. Seek first and seek always the Kingdom of God.
