Today is Pentecost, a VERY high feast in the Catholic church. Before mass, I’ll be doing an interview with the local diocesan Catholic newspaper about my music at St. Bernard’s. Which brings me to this wrap-up post: this week has been particularly busy and productive; be sure to scroll down and check out some of the updates and postings. Here are the highlights: With my talented friend, Walter Gershon, and new buddy Jon Richards (owner of Manic Muse Recording), I... Read more

Audio Yesterday I was the featured guest for a demo recording of Musings, a proposed radio show for WRHU, Hofstra University. The host and creator of the program is Eduardo Duarte, a fellow philosopher of education and super duper guy. The show mixes music and philosophy in a very free, improvisational way. I think the whole show really made some cool moves and we’ll soon be recording a part two. The show played my new track, “Pa Ingalls,” from the... Read more

Audio Here is the first recorded track of the summer Upi Dupi La La Sessions titled, “Pa Ingalls.” It was recorded in one live take with Walter Gershon on soprano saxophone, a snare drum, and cajon; and myself on the same snare drum and electric guitar. Audio Before I share the heavy stuff, here’s a short and light cover of “My Girl” I recorded for my new demo. It was a great day in the studio (Manic Muse Recording) with the talented Walter Gershon on percussion (and, later, on soprano saxophone) and crazy Jon Jones engineering and playing a little clave. I’ll post the other track (a short rendition of “Stormy Monday”) tomorrow and the inaugural track of the Upi Dupi La La Sessions, “Pa Ingalls,”... Read more
