Wait ’til next year

Well. That was disappointing.

And now I'm sitting here trying to post the next LB Friday and all I can think is that Jerry B. Jenkins was also the co-author of Out of the Blue: Orel Hershiser, which makes me think of the last time the Mets had a Game 7 in the NLCS, and that didn't end well either.

But hey, they finally won Bobby Cox's division. Then they limped into the postseason with Glavine & Maine and pray for rain and stil got pretty far. And they'll have the same bullpen next year, with Sanchez back, and Pedro, and it looks like Perez and Maine will be fine at this level, and the left side of the infield will still only be 24 years old, and Julio Franco will still only be 49 years old, and Omar Minaya is bound to work some midwinter magic and so there's plenty of room for optimism.

So let's go Tigers. And that LB Friday post will be up shortly.
