The dream for all self-employed/gig-economy/free-lance/independent contractor workers is to pay taxes in advance in those mythical quarterly payments all the earnest financial advisers talk about.
The next-best dream would be to at least pay the entire balance of one’s taxes on the same deadline-day as they are filed.
Some day, I hope to achieve one of those dreams. Today was not that day. Harrisburg will be satisfied, but I had to send only a partial, Acts 3:6-ish* payment to the IRS, with the assurance that I will send them the rest in installments.
