All people means all people (Merry Christmas)

All people means all people (Merry Christmas)

Great joy all people means what it says. All people.

Kids today may not remember Brokeback Mountain — or the nasty cultural backlash to that movie which made this picture so apt to capture what the shepherds really meant in that story, and to remind us of why we all need to get better at making sure “all people” means “all people.”

That’s why I share this picture every year. To remind all of us — and especially myself — that “all people” doesn’t just mean all the people I like.

That’s a Christmas Eve tradition here. And so is this song, which also hits a little different this year (RIP Shane).

Merry Christmas.
