I didn’t have time to bake a pie

“If you wish to make an apple pie truly from scratch,” Carl Sagan said, “you must first invent the universe.”

Who has time for that? So, if you’re pressed for time, or on a budget, or (like me) not terribly skilled in the culinary arts, a capable frozen apple pie may be a semi-adequate solution.
