How do you juggle school, sports, activities, playdates, homework, chores and family dinners without losing your mind? Our kids are busier than ever, and we often let their schedule get overcrowded while becoming overwhelmed with the stress of getting them hither and yon on time.

In this week’s video blog, I provide a simple foundation upon which to build your family’s schedule. You start with what every child and teen needs to grow healthy and strong: sleep and downtime, then you add in a healthy helping of family dinners. Mix in the purpose of the activity (is it because Johnny loves soccer or because Dad thinks he could get a college scholarship?). Then sprinkle on whether it’s good for Mom. That’s the best recipe for a workable and less stressful family schedule.
