Outreach/Outrage

The Jesuit LGBT magazine Outreach is promoting the display of pro-LGBT signage by students and their parents at Catholic schools. That’s bound to create havoc for the Catholic communities that will be targeted for this kind of harassment. And all kinds of legal trouble too. Which is probably the point when you consider that one of the authors is an attorney. The other listed authors are the founders of Catholic Allies:

“a non-profit organization that seeks to foster a culture of loving support for LGBTQ people within our Catholic families. We seek to carve more affirming space for LGBTQ people—and especially youth—within our Catholic community.”  Outreach

The Roman Apostasy

I’ve previously reported that the current spate of pro-LGBT activity in the Church is coming from the Rome Synod which concluded its first session in October of 2023. That session was immediately followed by the publication of three controversial documents:

      • Ad Theologiam Promovendam calls for a “paradigm shift” and “cultural revolution in theology based on science.
      • The Synod Final Report declares that science can change our teachings on sexual ethics. Bishop Robert Barron publicly denounced this. And the “dubia” Cardinals denounced this teaching as heresy.
      • Fiducia Supplicans calls for the blessings of same-sex couples.

The global Church resoundingly rejected Fiducia Supplicans, and all three documents have received severe criticism from important prelates around the world.

But the progressive, heretical wing received a very different message. To their mind, Pope Francis has used these post-synodal documents to signal his intention to implement doctrinal approval of LGBT behavior of some sort or other. His call for a second round of listening sessions in 2024 only underscored the message that Pope Francis means business in regard to gay liberation. That’s because the listening session questions are solely concerned  with implementation of the synod’s goals, which, when you look at the documents, point to a reversal of doctrine on sexual ethics for gay people.

Outreach—LGBT Pentagon for America

And this brings us back to today’s article in Outreach. As I previously reported, Outreach has expanded its  original news mission to become the hub of national LGBT activism in Catholic institutions.  This is in response to the Synod’s call for implementation of  its goals. Outreach has already called on the synod to halt the firing of openly LGBT educators at Catholic schools.  The new article calls for a full-scale invasion.

  • Rainbow flags and buttons are to be prominently worn and displayed by parents and students, as I mentioned above.
  • The policing of language on campus is recommended.
  • Parenting advice to adults: “Don’t offer advice unless asked.”
  • “Share your pronouns.”
  • LGBT identity is true identity.

LGBT Identity

Let’s try to wrap our minds around LGBT identity for moment. And let’s start with what the article actually states.

“3.You are wonderfully made. You are most beautiful when you are the truest version of yourself. The poet E.E. Cummings wrote, ‘It takes courage to grow up and become who you really are.’ We couldn’t agree more. God does not make mistakes.”

“4. There is space at the Catholic table for you. It is not your duty to change who you are.”

. . . .

“3.Accept our truest selves. The Trevor Project states that “having at least one accepting adult can reduce the risk of a suicide attempt among LGBTQ young people by 40 [percent].”  Accepting us for who we are and embracing our authentic selves will help us build confidence around our identities and fortify our self-esteem. Mental health matters. Your support in these moments of vulnerability will help affirm our self-worth and experiences.”

Un-Catholic, Unscientific

The message that LGBT identity represents the truest and most authentic and beautiful expression of individuals with LGBT inclinations is incompatible with divinely revealed truth on the subject. Homosexuality is disordered and unnatural. Persons who are trapped in sinful lifestyles are called to repentance. Thus, it is the duty of all Christians—not just the LGBT community—to “repent and believe the Gospel” (Mk. 1: 15). Contrary to the explicit recommendations of the article, it is in fact the Christian duty of LGBT persons to repent and “change who they are.”

The authors’ recommendation to “share your pronouns” affirms and promotes transgender ideology. This is a blatant rejection of a person’s authentic identity, and you don’t need to be a Christian to see this. Astonishingly, although some have tried to link the rejection of the trans movement to “Christian nationalism,” the fact remains that many liberals—and even atheists—reject this ideology as a dangerous delusion. The famous new atheist and biologist, Richard Dawkins ,has been an outspoken critic of the transgender movement, for example.

 Prepare for LGBT Lawfare

The agenda being pushed by these LGBT activists is truly subversive. Not only is it contrary to Catholic doctrine, it is incompatible with reason and common sense.  Nevertheless, they come armed with their lawyers.  Be prepared.
