A Prayer Request, an Update, and A Tin Cup Rattle

First of all, please pray for my neighbor Kim. Kim has cancer of some sort and is allergic to anesthesia, so they’re going to have to do a torturous-sounding biopsy while she’s awake. Also this week her brother had a stroke and some idiot totaled her car. Lord, hear our prayer!

Secondly, for anyone who would like to help my dear friend Erin fly her son’s body back to Arizona for burial and with funeral expenses, they are accepting donations. Please keep his family in your prayers.

Finally, I’ve got to ask for charity myself and I will probably ask again later this week too. I have mentioned now and then on the blog that I’m chronically ill and low-income. Right now, the house we are extremely fortunate to rent has no central air and we only have enough window units to keep one room downstairs and sometimes the attic cool-ish during the summer months. Due to my chronic fatigue syndrome and fibromyalgia, if I’m in an overheated room for too long I get super sick and things can snowball into a severe episode. Last summer I was practically disabled from the heat; I stayed sealed up in the dining room as though it was my cloister and slept there on a mattress at night. I couldn’t clean, cook or work in other parts of my house or even go upstairs to the bathroom without making myself sicker, all through summer and the first week or so of September. We are on the tiniest of razor-edge budgets here and we can’t afford to buy more air conditioners, but the year’s summer heat is about one week away. You’ll notice I have a pretty new donate button on the side of my blog. If any good Samaritan feels called to send me some air conditioner funding so that I can have two or three rooms safe this summer, I promise to pray for you every time I turn it on. Thank you very much.
