Trick or Treat?

Trick or Treat? 2017-10-31T09:48:15-04:00

I would like to thank the couple of generous readers who tipped me in response to the post about being broke and “winning” a lottery ticket last week. In addition to the humorous shopping trip and buying my esoteric chronic fatigue vitamins, Michael was able to pay a few bills. And I would like to awkwardly rattle the tin cup once more for the fall and ask anybody else, in my usual awkward way, that if you like what you read here, you consider giving a gratuity to the blogger.

If you’re just joining us, Steel Magnificat is my family’s current only source of income. We make art and preach social justice and once in awhile, as rarely as I can manage because it embarrasses me, I pass the hat and busk for tips. During lean times I have to pass the hat more often. If you like what you read, give me a tip. If you don’t like what you read but want to be nice anyway, give me a tip. If you hate me, humiliate me with your generosity. If you can’t afford to tip at all, that’s fine, just keep us in your prayers and keep liking and sharing posts. I will post the next real blog post within a few hours and it’s a good one, an extra-long one, a ghost story for Halloween. You’ll love it.

How do you give tips? Read carefully, it’s changed since the new website layout. There is no longer a button on the side of the page for PC users, and the button is not a tacky shade of yellow anymore either. Go to the top of my page, under the now-much-smaller Steel Magnificat banner. Click on the “donate” tab. Click on the white rectangle that says “PayPal: the safer, easier way to pay online!” You’ll be taken to a page that says “Donate to the Little Portion,” which is the name I call my house and so I named my PayPal account that too. PayPal will walk you through everything else.

That’s all for now. Back to your regularly scheduled blogging!
