For Your Consideration: A Look Beyond the Now

For Your Consideration: A Look Beyond the Now June 28, 2018

And now, a brief break from the day-to-day political or cultural chat. I hope you will indulge me in a bit of self-promotion.

For those who have read my bio here at Patheos, you know I also have a book available at Amazon titled, “But God: Seeking Our Father Unafraid.” That particular book was written for new believers, honest seekers, and those quaking Christians, weak and afraid in their walk.

It was written for guidance and encouragement, to help those who either feel they’re too weak to walk a Christian’s walk, or those afraid they’re “screwing up” in their relationship with Christ.

I wrote it as someone who has been both the seeker and the quaking Christian, so, no judgment.

The link to the book is in my bio.

I’m currently working on my second book, tentatively titled, “This Life: God in the Details.” I’ll be exploring current issues facing our world, from abortion to Black Lives Matter, and beyond. Along  the way, I’ll be discussing the Christian’s role in handling each.

While I feel “This Life” is the second book I was called to write, I’ve had some things to offer that did not fit in the first book or the second.

After some consideration, I decided to take what I had and put it in Kindle format, as the precursor to the upcoming work.

To be clear, I am a Pentecostal Holiness believer. I am fully Charismatic in my beliefs. I pray in tongues. I believe in the prophetic. The teachings of Smith Wigglesworth inspire me.

With that in mind, know that I understand that there are segments of Christianity that may be skeptical, in regards to prophetic dreams and visions. Some feel those particular gifts have been quelled for centuries.

I do not, because I have experienced them, personally.

The Kindle book is titled, “A Look Beyond the Now”, by R. Susan Wright, and walks through three separate occurrences, leaving room for interpretation, with only brief commentary from myself about what each may mean.

For those curious, the “R. Susan Wright” was to avoid the same confusion that went down with the first book. There is another author named Susan Wright, who tackles very different subject matter, so to avoid the confusion, I added my first initial.

As with all my writings, it’s something I’ve put my heart into, and with everything I release, I always have those flashes of insecurity, as I wonder if I’m doing the right thing, was it supposed to be released or should I have kept it to myself, etc…

Well, it’s out there now, and for those interested, you can go check it out today.

“’It shall be done in the last days, says God,’ I shall pour out my Spirit on everybody, and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions and your Elders shall dream dreams.” – Acts 2:17 ABPE
