The Free Love Movement Overtakes the World of Scouting

Well, it’s not your dad’s Boy Scouts, any more.

Last month, the Boy Scouts of America announced that they were dropping “Boy” from their name and just going with “Scouts BSA.” Also, girls will now be allowed to join.

Many were outraged and wondering how this was going to work out. Are boys and girls going to be attending the same overnight events? Who will be chaperoning? Did they really think this thing through, or is this just another symptom in a world that has lost its mind?

It gets better. Or worse, depending on who you ask.

I’m going with worse.

In some retarded sense of equality, the upcoming World Scout Jamboree will apparently be giving instruction on a new kind of badge for the scouts to strive for, according to LifeSiteNews.

News broke last week that the World Scout Jamboree — slated for next summer in West Virginia with the Boy Scouts of America as a host — would ensure “condoms are readily and easily accessible for all participants at a number of locations.” The move marked for many the latest step in an ongoing radicalization of scouting.

Aside from making condoms available to children as young as 13, additional information from the WSJ event shows that girls are expected to make up half of the attendees. The Jamboree is being promoted as a way for participants to meet and mix faster than they could through social media.

The event is touted by organizers as “what will surely be the largest party in the world.”

So listen up parents, the BSA was not content to merely make scouting co-ed. They’re attempting to turn it into some kind of youth Burning Man Festival.

My son was in scouting. I honestly don’t remember the part about condom tents at any of his camp meetings.

I definitely don’t remember reading anything that suggested there would be annual “hook up” events for the kids, and that’s exactly what this sounds like.

According to the event information, “The World Scout Jamboree (WSJ) is the largest regular event organized by the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM), gathering up to 50,000 Scouts from more than 150 countries around the World. It is an educational event to promote peace and understanding among young people from different cultures.”

The event is hosted by the three organizations that oversee scouting in North America – Scouts Canada, the Boy Scouts of America (BSA), and Asociación de Scouts de México.

Pro-life and family organizations are slamming the decision to make condoms available at the event, and say it smacks of purposeful promotion of sexual activity to minors.

It really, really does.

Dr. Michelle Cretella, president of the American College of Pediatricians, said that providing condoms to Jamboree participants is an invitation for young people to take part in sexual activity.

“The advanced promotion and free distribution of condoms sends the message to scouts that “We expect you to do this [be sexually active],” Cretella told LifeSiteNews.

Rochelle Focaracci, co-editor of GirlScoutsWhyNot.com, backed Cretella’s point.

“The fact that they are requiring that condoms be ‘readily accessible’ and are communicating this to everyone shows that the BSA is both anticipating and facilitating sexual conduct between minors at this event,” Focaracci told LifeSiteNews.

There’s no other way to put it. They’re bringing together kids who are hormonal, billing it as a party, and making condoms available. How is that not inviting sex among minors?

And yes. I understand that younger and younger children are becoming sexually active. That doesn’t mean we facilitate it.

From what the BSA is saying in their guidelines for this Jamboree, it sounds very much like they’re doing everything short of booking the motel room.

In addition to making condoms available for participants as young as 13, the BSA must see to it that the youth have “opportunities for sufficient free time to allow participants to meet and mix in an unstructured way” and provide “spaces for young people to congregate informally.”

Focararri points out that the official Boy Scouts of America 24th World Scout Jamboree website states, “With 50,000 Scouts from 160 countries living side-by-side, you are sure to meet amazing guys and girls faster than you can find them on Facebook. Don’t miss what will surely be the largest party in the world!”

It’s time for parents to wake up and see what a disservice is being done to their children.

This mess is on the Boy Scouts of America. However, it’s long been known that anyone buying those yummy Girl Scout cookies is making a donation to Planned Parenthood, basically. Neither organization is pure or wholesome, at this point.

Reports state that membership in the Boy Scouts has began to dwindle, hence the reason for allowing girls. I guess they don’t factor in what may have changed since 2013 (when they started allowing openly gay boys to join) or 2015 (they began to allow openly gay scoutmasters) in the equation.

Alternative Christian and morally traditional youth programs have also gained popularity in the U.S. in the wake of the major scouting organizations’ veering radical. Some of these include Little Flowers Girls Clubs, American Heritage Girls, Federation of North American Explorers, Columbian Squires, Trail Life USA and Troops of St. George.​

So there you have it, parents.

I don’t know how much worse this world can get, but if you’re not concerned that they’re after our children, think again.
