A Freudian slip, or a signal to the world?
And it came from a Fox News host, no less.
Abby Huntsman is the daughter of President Trump’s pick to be United States Ambassador to Russia, Jon Huntsman. While hosting a segment on “Fox and Friends Weekend,” giving what anyone who pays attention knows to be the expected, breathless Fox News coverage of the meeting between Trump and North Korean psychopath, Kim Jong Un, Huntsman made a shocking error [?] in her speech.
President Trump is in Singapore, having cut out of the G7 summit early on Saturday, in order to make a meeting that no other U.S. president would have agreed to, out of concern of giving legitimacy to Kim’s murderous regime.
Trump has no such qualms, because good or bad, the meeting is considered “historic” and everybody will say, “WOW – Look what Donald Trump did! He should totally get a Nobel Peace Prize!”
That’s really the bottom line, here.
So with visions of being seen as the great peace maker, rather than the misguided, bumbling, incompetent fool, giving legitimacy to a dictatorship and doing so with no preconditions on the table (giving them everything they want, while the U.S. receives nothing), Trump set off.
Of course, Fox News will cover this as if it were the moon landing (and for those Trumpsters reading, yes, the moon landing was a real thing).
Abby Huntsman, however, did something remarkable.
She let truth slip into a Fox News broadcast about Trump.

“There we have him. There is the president of the United States, Donald Trump, about to walk down those stairs, stepping foot in Singapore as we await this historic summit with the North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un,” Huntsman said.
Chaser…
“This is history we are living, regardless of what happens in that meeting between the two dictators. What we are seeing right now, this is history,” she said.
Whether she meant it or whether it was an unfortunate slip of the tongue, that one deserves a hearty round of applause!
Of course, this is Fox News. We may never see Abby Huntsman again (on air, that is). I can only imagine how this blows back on her dad, as well.
At some point, they got to her. Someone pointed out what she said and she did the expected on-air mea culpa.
She also pointed out, in response to some of the social media criticism she was receiving from the rabid Trump faithful, that she was imperfect, and had apologized, in an effort to get the incident behind her.

Given President Trump’s actions and treatment of our allies, while courting our foes, she was not in the wrong and it would have been awesome to see her just let the comment go.
She didn’t, but let’s be honest, no matter whether she meant it or had a moment of forgetfulness, for this day, Abby Huntsman is a hero.
Hold your head up high, Abby. We, the rebellious patriots of this once-great republic, salute you!
