Yes, White House Officials Consulted a Psychiatrist Over Trump’s Behavior September 6, 2018

Say, is there anything else, maybe one more nail driven into the coffin of this particular infrastructure week, in order to solidify that Trump’s Cabinet and staff think he’s unstable, unqualified, and that the well-being of our nation has been put into the hands of a corrupt, inept clown?

So what do we have so far?

We’ve got award winning journalist, Bob Woodward’s new book, “Fear: Trump in the White House,” with tale after tale of an administration in chaos.

We’ve got an op-ed from someone claiming to be a senior administration official, who backs up much of what the Woodward book claims, and even notes that there was a point when the 25th Amendment – declaring Trump “unfit,” and removing him – was discussed.

It can’t get worse, right?

Right?!

Maybe it can.

A new report today is a doozy.

According to the New York Daily News, in the fall of 2017 White House officials were so shaken by the walking nightmare in the Oval Office that they reached out to a Yale University psychiatrist, due to Trump’s “erratic” behavior.

25th Amendment, baby.

Dr. Bandy Lee, who edited the best-selling book “The Dangerous Case of Donald Trump: 27 Psychiatrists and Mental Health Experts Assess a President,” told the Daily News Thursday the staffers contacted her because the President was “scaring” them.

A pair of West Wing representatives contacted her because they believed the President was “unraveling.”

“I had not mentioned this before because I did not want to confuse my role as an educator to the public,” Lee said when pressed about why she did not speak out sooner. “I thought I would be more effective by retaining my public role then getting involved in either the treatment of those who were feeling scared or in the actual intervention with the President.”

She may as well speak loud and proud, now. Everybody else is.

Dr. Lee also briefed about a dozen lawmakers from the House and Senate about Trump’s behavior and out of control tweeting in December.

Trump defended his mental fitness in January, calling himself a “very stable genius” and “like, really smart.”

Of course you are.

The big concern last year, when a group of mental health professionals began to speak out about the president’s behavior and possible narcissistic personality disorder was that it posed potential ethical issues.

President Trump has not spent any time with any of those professionals or any other being evaluated. Their assessments could not be taken as absolute. At best, they could only make vague comparisons between Trump’s behavior and that of known mental health disorders.

The Trump official behind the anonymous New York Times op-ed appears to confirm Lee and other experts worst fears, that the “root of the problem is the President’s amorality.”

“Anyone who works with him knows he is not moored to any discernible first principles that guide his decision-making,” the unnamed writer adds.

The author of the piece goes on to describe how the “adults” in the administration are working behind the scenes to defend the nation against Trump’s incompetence and worst impulses.

Dr. Lee is not the only professional speaking up about Trump’s mental instability, actually.

Political psychologist Dr. Bart Rossi said it is clear that Trump has been exhibiting narcissistic behavior and it has been getting worse as the pressures of the office mount and the federal Russia probe stretches on.

“I see someone who has a real narcissistic problem,” Rossi told The News. “The problem is he is narcissistic to the extreme. He’s self-absorbed to the point where he’s only concerned about himself.”

“The other problem is that he has a thought disturbance,” Rossi added. “When Donald Trump says something he expects others to believe it is reality even if it is completely fabricated.”

OH – Sometimes, some things just ring far too true.

The problem is that there are plenty of sycophants and unthinking Trump loyalists who believe whatever he says, no matter how contradictory or disconnected from truth.

Rossi said his analysis is based on Trump’s public statements and is made in the context of political psychology.

“We’re in very dangerous territory,” he added.

Many of us have felt that for some time, but it’s likely going to take a disaster before anyone in the administration grows a backbone and really does something more than just hiding documents from President Best Brain.
