The Clintons and Barack Obama Targeted by Would-Be Bomber

This is inexcusable. It must stop. I fear, however, that political discourse in this nation is only a step away from outright civil war, and we don’t currently have a Lincoln in the White House. We have a dumber, more hateful Vince McMahon, at best.

In the daily onslaught of news of people behaving badly, because of partisan politics, the past couple of days have been particularly disturbing.

Someone is targeting liberal boogeymen with explosive devices.

The U.S. Secret Service said Wednesday that “potential explosive devices” were sent to former President Barack Obama and ex-presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.

A law enforcement official told The New York Times that the “explosive device” sent to the Clintons’ home in Chappaqua, New York, was found by a technician who screens mail for the former president and his family.

The device addressed to former President Obama was sent to a Washington, D.C. address and intercepted by Secret Service personnel.

The targeting of George Soros, Hillary Clinton, and Barack Obama is quite deliberate. For those who watch the daily social media battles, you understand that the Clintons forever live in the heads of the wacked out rightwing, incapable of dealing with the day-to-day realities of life beyond internet memes.

For that matter, you would think Obama and Trump are wrestling daily for control of the White House, to read some of the obsessive nonsense that’s pumped out daily.

And no, I’m not slamming the rightwing, as a whole. I am very much entrenched on the right, myself. I’m no liberal, and nobody is mistaking my views as moderate.

I am, however, sane. As such, I have a set of principles and I try to expand my understanding of the world beyond what I see on social media.

Because of those principles, and very much because of my evangelical Christian, conservative views, the whole idea of planting pipe bombs in the mailboxes of those I disagree with, politically, would never enter my mind.

This ugliness reminds me of the North Carolina man who traveled to Washington, intent on “rescuing” children being held captive by sex traffickers in the basement of some D.C. pizza parlor, based on internet rumors. He fired several shots into the parlor before being apprehended.

The pizza joint in question never had a basement, and after his arrest, the man admitted that he was simply acting on the internet hoax, and maybe he should have done a bit more research.

No one was hurt in that incident, either, but they could have been.

“The Secret Service has initiated a full scope criminal investigation that will leverage all available federal, state, and local resources to determine the source of the packages and identify those responsible,” Assistant Special Agent Mason Brayman said in the statement.

The package sent to the Clintons was discovered on Tuesday night. The New Castle (NY) Police Department is working with the FBI and Secret Service to determine who sent the package, and you can be sure, they’ll track the person down, soon.

The Times reported that the device was similar to one found at the home of George Soros, a politically active billionaire and pariah to many on the right, on Monday.

Soros is the big money boogeyman behind it all. He funds every dirty Democrat effort. The latest rumor is that he is funding the migrant caravan out of Honduras that is advancing towards the southern border of the United States.

To be fair, I don’t know what he funds, but I wouldn’t be shocked to find out his money is behind every far left politician, every far left, anti-American, disruptive policy initiative imaginable.

My stance?

It’s his money. Let him invest it, anyway he wants. He’s a rotten guy with rotten politics, but if you think murdering him because you don’t like how he spends HIS MONEY, then you’re a rotten person, as well.

You’re worse than just rotten. You’re a would-be murderer (and probably insane).

How are you different than the guy who shot Rep. Steve Scalise on that baseball field in 2017?

The way to combat politicians or politically-rooted personalities we disagree with is through citizen activism and our vote.

No matter what the internet tells you, we are on a level playing field. We are all afforded the same right to protest what we disagree with, or lobby for what we want to see happen.

Become informed. Become active, outside of posting memes to Facebook, with no actual knowledge of where those memes came from, or if they’re correct.

There are so many ways to fight for your beliefs. You don’t have to be a Hungarian billionaire investor.

What you don’t do is threaten the lives of those you disagree with, politically.

Neither the Clintons, the Obamas, or even George Soros have done anything to warrant a death sentence.

This is the corruption of our political process, in this nation, and it must be roundly condemned on both sides of the political aisle.

And the person (or persons) responsible must be stopped, before one of their devices actually meets its intended target.
