Wishing Adam Godspeed

Wishing Adam Godspeed

Adam is heading off to his new home in Eugene today. I have been in denial about this since last year when I he told me about it. It’s strange how hard change is — I am going to miss having him right next door in our adjacent offices, when I can just yell out “A-DAM” whenever I need him for an edit, a help with some social media mystery or some other tech glitch. We have edited each others blogs and had so many long theological conversations over the years that have enriched me in ways I cannot imagine. And we have given birth to and nurtured our Raven Foundation ministry together. This may all sound as if these things are coming to an end. They are not! Adam is not leaving Raven and we are launching our new Patheos adventure together — it’s just that our interactions will be virtual now, all Skype and texts and email with only occasional in person visits. Which makes it easier for me to wish him Godspeed and to share my confidence that new communities and friendship will open up and receive him and his family, that wonderful things he cannot imagine are waiting for him in Oregon. So Godspeed, friend. Go with my love and God’s blessings and the sure knowledge that our work together is not ending but on the verge of a new beginning. Your friend, Suzanne
