Magical Movement: The Power of Shapes

Time to recap the previous week of the Witchual Workout!  If you don’t know about it – the Witchual Workout is a daily program designed to get you (and me) up and moving regularly – with a dash of magical inspiration to help build and enhance your daily practice. You don’t have to be a dancer of any kind to participate and I encourage you to listen to your body and modify as needed.  Many of these episodes can be done from a seated position as well.

This past week’s collection of 4 episodes centers around working shapes with our bodies to understand the power behind them.  Most of us pay little attention to the shapes around us and the energy contained within them.  Recognizing them in your magical practice can lead to a profound experience.

Witchual Workout 141: The Power of Straight Lines
This week we are exploring the power of the shapes and patterns we make with our body. What direction we move our bodies in, the shapes we create with our movements, the size and speed of those movements: all of these factors lend tremendous power to our work when we combine them with intention and focus. First we explore the straight line – exterior and interior movements. This episode is a vigorous workout. It has 3 parts: warm-up, arms, and lower body.

This week we are exploring the power of the shapes and patterns we make with our body. What direction we move our bodies in, the shapes we create with our movements, the size and speed of those movements: all of these factors lend tremendous power to our work when we combine them with intention and focus. Today we’re exploring the circle – a shape of connection, one that stirs, creates, and much more. This episode is a vigorous workout. It has 3 parts: warm-up, arms and legs, and lower body.

Witchual Workout 143: The Power of Spirals
This week we are exploring the power of the shapes and patterns we make with our body. What direction we move our bodies in, the shapes we create with our movements, the size and speed of those movements: all of these factors lend tremendous power to our work when we combine them with intention and focus. Today we’re exploring the spiral – found all around us in the universe, from DNA to galaxies, from fiddleheads to snail shells. Spiral energy can focus in towards the center, or expand out from it. This episode is a vigorous workout. It has 3 parts: warm-up, slow-medium, and fast.

Witchual Workout 144: The Power of Wavy Lines
This week we are exploring the power of the shapes and patterns we make with our body. What direction we move our bodies in, the shapes we create with our movements, the size and speed of those movements: all of these factors lend tremendous power to our work when we combine them with intention and focus. Today we’re exploring the wavy line. Wavy lines are all around us – sound and light travel in waves, but that doesn’t make them easy. They need to be directed to carry energy and messages effectively in magical workings. This episode is a fairly vigorous workout. It has 3 parts: warm-up, slow/foundation, and medium.
