As I meant to say earlier… 2017-03-16T23:06:29+00:00

The day got away from me before I could link to some blogs and columns I particularly wanted to share with you folks, so real quick:

Lorie Byrd wrote a very excellent column featured in Townhall.com (go, Lori!), in which she opines that after Katrina and Rita she is ready to start seriously considering Rudy Giuliani for President, despite his pro-abortion positions.

I personally feel that if Rudy can reign himself in a bit in that regard, he has a shot at the nomination, and he would be difficult for the Democrats to counter. Those democrats to whom I showed Lorie’s piece all agreed with her, strongly.

Beth at MVRWC has an interesting email up at her site, coming as it does from a fellow in Iraq who wants to impress upon Americans how these “anti-war” rallys such as we saw last weekend embolden the insurgents:

I think you would be amazed at the morale of the young military people here. I know I am. I’ve been in for over 28 years and I have seen good and bad. These youngsters are getting the job done in a way I would never have imagined. They go on convoys, get shot at or have IEDs go off, then they return still in high spirits. The trick here is to convince the bad guys they have been beat. The idiots at the peace rallies are what’s really hurting since the stated goals of the insurgents is to break down public support for the war in the US. I heard the other day that 52% of the people back home think we are losing. I would be worried if it was 1995 and this was the case, but Bush doesn’t govern via polls like Clinton did. That’s one thing we all appreciate about the president; he sticks to the plan.

Go to Beth’s site for some, ummm…unusual graphics! :-)

I like DJ Drummond, here – very clever stuff.

I also like K-Lo’s predictions here on exactly how Bush’s next SCOTUS nominee will play out with the dems. She’s 100% correct, I am sure (H/T Betsy

Rand Simberg takes down Mary Mapes. I dunno, whenever I hear her name, all I can think is MOOPS! Not Moors! MOOPS!

Jeff at Musing Minds caught something that I had seen, too, but was too forgetful to blog – EJ Dionne’s little slip of the tongue about how the non-stop negativity of the press is helpful in the battle against President Bush.

Wrote Dionne: “The flow of negative news about the administration will do much of the Democrats’ work for them.”

Wrote Jeff: Apparantly the MSM should keep up the bad press long enough to give the Dems time to solve the “party’s larger intellectual and tactical contradictions.” I wonder if E.J. knows that the media is the proverbial spoon that feeds these contradictions to the Dems?

An important slip to keep in mind.

Confederate Yankee has some new pictures from Katrina. God bless the spirit of some Americans!

There is more…there is always more…but I’m hitting they hay with a headache tonight! All be well!
