Hugh Hewitt directs us to James Q Wilson’s review of The Prince of the City : Giuliani, New York and the Genius of American Life by Cooper Union Professor Fred Siegel. The review is a rave. Hugh says it is an endorsement for Rudy for President. Sounds great, I gotta get it; if you gotta get it, too, please see my bookshelf in the sidebar. As always, any moneys realized via Amazon sales are donated to my brother’s hospice.

You should have seen this elsewhere, but if you did not, and people are telling you that Bush should be impeached for “spying on America,” just show them this piece in The American Thinker. Maybe send it to Bob Schieffer, too.

“Snarkiness” is one of my favorite words, so I was pleased when I saw Jack Kelly, whom I admire, use it here while musing about a George Will column. Read it – kinda interesting stuff about Jack Abramoff, and he notes that the GOP is going to be forced to take some bold measures about K Street.

Quote of the Day, via Mary Katharine Ham: What it takes normal people 30 seconds to figure out, it may take the Senate three days to figure out. – Sen. Lindsey Graham

Michelle Malkin profiles The Woman the Dems Do Not Want to Hear. Wish I’d seen her. And wasn’t it kind of rude of the Dem senators (except Feinstein, to her credit) to give these judges the courtesy of a hearing, and their oh-so-precious time? Seems like if you’re going to be as “open minded” as Joe Biden and Chuck Schumer kept saying they were trying to be about Alito… Anyway, Michelle has the download on this Clinton-appointed judge’s compelling testimony on behalf of Sam Alito.

Another Clinton-appointed judge, Timothy Lewis also testified on behalf of Alito saying he was there to testify, “out of my own sense of justice and fairness.”. Not too many heard him.

Meanwhile, Real Clear Politics wonders how many of the Dems on the Judicial Committee could be confirmed. In fairness, we have to wonder about some of the GOP’ers, too.

Mark Coffey at Decision ’08 has a sort of tale of two strategies, The Smearing of the Hearing

Let us hope and pray
that the people who need to be serious abour Iran are being serious. Alexandra has a very extensive, even exhaustive and comprehensive piece on Iran and what needs doing and what seems not to be happening. A must read. Roger Simon says Condi’s tryin’!

Shrinkwrapped (who is lain upon the couch by Siggy, here) takes some time to try to understand liberals, using their own definitions of who they say they are. It is very interesting reading and very witty and well-done; you will enjoy.

Also on Siggy’s couch is Vanderleun a guy so smart it’s almost scary. I admire him and his writing a lot; he’s always interesting, and does not disappoint, here.

Let us be thankful for Jeanettes encouraging news; she has had too little of it, lately.

It gets boring to say “this story would be all over the papers if they were Republicans”. Except that it would be. Ah, well, there is always Court TV.

Lorie at Polipundit points us toward this long and important piece that should concern everyone who writes or reads blogs, not matter where they reside on the political spectrum.

Julie is analyzing why The Lion is Beating the Ape at the box office.

On the same topic, sort of, my li’l bro Thom sends predictable bit of capitalism along: Big media and the “holy” grail: 2006 may be the year when more media firms find religion. Why? Because that’s where the money is. He predicts that Hollywood will not understand that shows and films about faith are not mere “product” that can be focus-grouped. “People need to believe in what they’re doing,” he writes, “Or else you end up with crap like Book of Daniel.” Indeed.

Remember, after Hurricane Katrina, Congressman William Jefferson, D, New Orleans was castigated for using military personnel to recover some of his belongings? Gateway Pundit says he’s got some troubles – corruption-type troubles.

See, this is why I always say that neither party should try to play the “culture of corruption” card. They both have too many skeletons in the closet. Maybe they should all just STOP SCREWING AROUND and do what they’ve been voted in to do, before they get voted out. On the issue of corruption, btw, Newsbusters catches the AP being even-handed.

Political Teen
has the link of Pfc. Joshua Sterling on the Sean Hannity radio show. He’s the soldier who got the “I hope you die” card while recovering at Walter Reed.

I don’t think blogging is the same for every blogger, but neo has some thoughtful musings you might enjoy!
