50 Most Influential Christians

50 Most Influential Christians 2017-03-17T21:38:21+00:00

Hugh Hewitt is surprised that Benedict placed so low, but I suppose that most of the folks naming these 50 Most Influential Christians in America are not Catholic and wouldn’t be thinking of him. Of course, Hugh isn’t Catholic, either, but he’s very attentive and notices everything!

Then again, Sean Hannity IS a Catholic, and he’s ranked higher than Benedict! I’m sure he’d be surprised to see that!

I’m actually surprised to see any Catholic names on the list at all, and it’s kind of nice to see some Catholics noted by their Protestant siblings-in-Christ. Having said that, since some Catholics were mentioned, I’m equally surprised that neither Richard John Neuhaus nor Mother Angelica made the cut, particularly Mother Angelica. I’d call a global Catholic television and radio network (begun in an old garage with $200.00 bucks) pretty influential! :-)

Hugh is also linking to his excellent piece in the current issue of World Magazine on the effect of Alito on the SCOTUS and Roe-v-Wade, and what to look for in the future. Marvin Olasky, in the same issue, writes on what real choice is about. Hint: It’s about the first choices, the initial choices, we make.

It’s all good reading.
