Miss Ella keeps us civilized

Miss Ella keeps us civilized November 18, 2008

Sorry so quiet. I’m still struggling to get through my emails – I may just hit delete and call myself caught up – and I have some paying work that needs to be get done, but never say I leave you empty-handed. I give you the Divine Miss Ella Fitzgerald, my heroine, my queen, singing Gershwin and leaving nothing for anyone else to follow up with!

More: Can’t be embedded, but here’s Miss Ella mixed with Miss Sarah Vaughn Lush Life. An imperfect edit of two recordings but an interesting showcasing of two geniuses.

My dream, of course, is to have Queen Latifah play Ella in a definitive film. But then Miss Ella was so painfully private, it would actually seem mean, intrustive – and almost sinful – to put out a film on her life.
