Vespers for Advent Dec 2 (& prayer requests) 2017-03-16T16:10:55+00:00

Well, for better or worse, here is the podcast for tonight’s Vespers.

Sorry about the shoddy recording; new equipment still not in the budget. I keep saving for it and then spending the savings on car repair!

As I listened to the playback, I realized I could not understand what I was singing, and I knew the words! So, here is verse one of “O Come Divine Messiah”

O Come Divine Messiah;
the world in silence waits the day
when hope shall sing its triumph
and sadness flee away.

Dear Savior haste!
Come, come to earth.
dispel the night
and show your face
and bid us hail the dawn of grace.

O Come Divine Messiah;
the world in silence waits the day
when hope shall sing its triumph
and sadness flee away.

A little update; I know some of you have been praying for Anthony – the father of three little ones who was struck by a train and severely injured. The latest update has him awake and responsive! Prayer works. It sounds like he has a long way to go. If you could also remember in your prayers 7 year-old Lily who is beginning chemotherapy for leukemia. Try my trick; every time you feel a little beleaguered, put-upon or frazzled, offer a prayer for someone else, instead of yourself. You’d be amazed at how it makes your own issues disappear before your eyes.

Also, if you are wondering what breviary I’m using it’s this one – my favorite – and the accompanying guide. I’ll list the 2009 guide for you, as it’s sort of pointless to buy 2008’s.
