Way behind schedule over here due to a personal mishap – nothing big, something stupid, actually, but you know…one of “those days.”
I must admit, there was a point where I was feeling a little undone and frantic at the way my schedule and my day had gone lopsided, and I almost wanted to forego doing the podcast, but then I thought…no, what I really need is a time-out for prayer. Vespers will help, not hurt – and indeed, that’s what happened. You’ll note from the canticle chant (“My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord…”) that I’d gotten into pretty high spirits as the psalms lifted me, as they always do, out of my dolors and my black mood.
So, here is today’s podcast of vespers, with a small talk at the end. The talk, I’m thinking is a little mad and disjointed, but I was winging it, so I hope you don’t mind it too much.
To those of you who asked me to make separate recordings of the talks, I think that’s going to be a tall and difficult order. Couldn’t manage it today; if you only want the talk, without Vespers, you can move the curser to the right and it should bring you there.
Btw, just a reminder, if you are looking for other Hours of the Divine Office to pray – or you’re just sick of my voice – divineoffice.org gives you your full dose of prayer, every day.
What a day. One of those days where you just want to heave a big sigh and zone out. Have a good one!
