With news and political theater breaking all around, it is easy to let a story slip through the cracks, but Michelle Malkin and Brian Maloney, while some of us feel like our heads are spinning just trying to keep up (um, yes, that is me, raising my hand) they have managed to keep their noses to the grindstone, and now they are delivering their joint special report. Part 1 is up at Michelle’s place: Inside Air America: An Investigative Blog... Read more

Updated and bumped to top: Awright, awright…there’s just too much going on here, and it somehow all feels connected, but as you folks know, I am a tad dyslexic and when lots of similar things present themselves, I tend to get confused and lose track. I once taught religion to a class of 22 kids, which included two blonde girls, one Stacey, one Tracy. The whole year I never could keep them straight, poor things. SO – I’m going to... Read more

United Nations Bankrolled Latest Anti-israel Propaganda. The United Nations bankrolled the production of thousands of banners, bumper stickers, mugs, and T-shirts bearing the slogan “Today Gaza and Tomorrow the West Bank and Jerusalem,” which have been widely distributed to Palestinian Arabs in the Gaza Strip, according to a U.N. official. The U.N. support of the Palestinian Authority’s propaganda operation in the midst of the Israeli evacuation of Jewish settlers from the Gaza Strip has provoked outrage from Israeli and Jewish... Read more

Michelle Malkin has heard that Al Franken finds the story of Air America’s misuse of public funds to be “boring.” Sounds like the man needs to find the FUN in FUNDS, and Malkin is offering to help: Even O.J. Simpson still fakes occasional interest in finding his wife’s killer between his rounds of golf. Franken and Air America management, by contrast, seem unusually eager to sweep the entire financial scandal under the rug. Meanwhile, the Boys & Girls Club hasn’t... Read more

I missed this yesterday – Arthur Chrenkoff’s very long, very good exposition of positive stories that are either unreported or underreported. Get a nice big cuppa coffee and read it all. Read more

Hee-hee…I don’t know why but so many stories are striking my funny bone today. This one cracked me up. According to the White House, one of three books Bush chose to read on his five-week vacation is “Salt: A World History” by Mark Kurlansky, who chronicled the rise and fall of what once was considered the world’s most strategic commodity. The other two books he reportedly brought to Crawford are “Alexander II: The Last Great Tsar” by Edvard Radzinsky and... Read more

Apparently a 61 year old nun is protesting the filming of The DaVinci Code at Lincoln Cathedral. The dean of the Cathedral, while calling the book “a load of old tosh” okayed the use of the Cathedral for filming because – well, for the money, let’s just say it plainly. …despite the dean of Lincoln Cathedral branding the book ‘a load of old tosh’ he has agreed to let the movie be filmed there. He and the church authorities said... Read more

Maxed Out Mama has a <a href="http://maxedoutmama.blogspot.com/2005/08/faith-based-sex-education.html".really terrific piece that I meant to link to last night. I just had to make a comment about Planned Parenthood’s foray into faith-based sex education, scientific and medical irrationality. I also want to take a good strong whack at those who claim that there is no such thing as a secularist agenda in sex education in this country. She brings you lesson plans and pdf files – all of which war very interesting... Read more

You ever hear the expression “I don’t always agree with what he says, but I love the way he says it?” Well…actually I often agree with Sigmund Carl and Alfred but its the way they say it that usually floats my boat. Lover of language and snark, SCA manages to do the disdainful smackdown in a way that is both vicious and elegant. We may not be talking Wolcott or Wodehouse but we’re definately talking Welles. And they talk about... Read more
