Religious Marriages Only!

The Friendly Atheist found this on the website of New York 21st Congressional District Republican challenger Ted Danz.  Here’s another one that needs a lesson in the Constitution:

I am opposed to same sex marriage. Marriage is a term that should only be used to define the religious union between one man and one woman.

In other words, the only kind of marriage he would recognize is a religious marriage.  Well that’s going to disqualify a lot of marriages in this country.  Why are these people unable to draw a distinction between government and religion?  Are they really that dense?
