Dribs and Drabs, Vol. 3

Dribs and Drabs, Vol. 3

1. As I wrote in my earlier review, I loved Jennifer Fulwiler’s newest book “One Beautiful Dream,” and I also loved her appearance on the Fountains of Carrots podcast. The episode is so good and well worth a listen!

2. Did anyone else get books for Mother’s Day? Here’s what I scored:

books I received for Mother's Day

I’m only a few pages into “Write Smart, Write Happy” but I’m liking it so far. Of course, Austen is always a good bedside read, and this edition is simply beautiful — the picture doesn’t do it justice. You can see a better one here. I bought this one partially because it was so gorgeous, but also because I realized that all of my Austen books were in e-book form. There’s something so satisfying about reading an actual, physical book.

3. Upcoming book reviews as soon as I can squeeze out the time to finish reading them: “Can We Be Friends?” by Rebecca Frech and “Ask a Manager: How to Navigate Clueless Colleagues, Lunch-Stealing Bosses, and the Rest of Your Life at Work.” I’ve also pre-ordered Haley Stewart’s book, “The Grace of Enough: Pursuing Less and Living More in a Throwaway Culture.”

4. Kate at Sancta Nomina was kind enough to send me an autographed hardcover copy of her book since I wrote an endorsement for her! Her book is just beautiful and I’m so thrilled to have it on my bookshelf.
