Peter Hammond Schwartz is a writer, based in Seattle. He received a PhD in political philosophy from University of California, Berkeley, taught at the University
of Maryland and Washington University in St. Louis, worked as the Politics editor for Microsoft Encarta, and founded an online legal news and research company called Knowledge Mosaic that LexisNexis purchased in 2012. He has published articles and essays on politics, history, and philosophy in peer-reviewed journals, edited volumes, newspapers, websites, opinion magazines including The Nation, San Francisco Chronicle, Huffington Post, Ploughshares Fund, Political Theory, and Western Political Quarterly. He has published poetry and lyric essays in Chaleur Magazine and Portland Review.
