… the only thing that kept me sane in college were my art classes and quiet visits to the Richmond cathedral next door to my dorm. I wasn’t Catholic while attending college; in fact, I did not identify with any religious affiliation in my youth. As a result I spent a good portion of those years completely lost for guidance and ultimately made some very poor choices.

Instead of worrying about the unchangeable past, I use my hind-sight knowledge to advise my college-aged cousins and friends with teenage children. The number one thing they can do to make college a successful experience is to surround themselves with good people and find a religious youth group.
