Apparently my repeated use of the more accurate term, pro-abortion advocate, bothers those who prefer to call themselves “pro-choice”. I’m not sure why. Maybe because it calls attention to the very plain and simple fact that you do indeed advocate abortion. That is the “choice” you are referring to when you label yourself pro-choice. So what is the problem? Is the truth too unpalatable? OOoooo … I see, you advocate other choices besides abortion. Well, Ok. That’s fine. So do... Read more

… So often we never say what we mean, hold our tongues, or soften our rhetoric to appear more considerate and unoffensive. On the rare occasion when someone actually boldly claims what they believe without reservation I appreciate that honesty. I may hate what it is they say but at least I know where they stand to hate it. Take this pro-abortion advocate for instance; she loves abortion. I mean really hearts it. “I love abortion. I don’t accept [sic]... Read more

… So now I am being in talked into getting bees. Let me re-cap the insanity. First there was the rabbit trapping venture where one neighbor used my land to lay traps in return for some stew, then it was the veggie swap, then chickens – which I am still totally doing- and next is beekeeping. The goat is still undecided. Oh, and if you read this and run into my son please do not let on those rabbits were... Read more

… The Hunger Games is the next big thing apparently. I first learned of the books last year when a friend of mine was raving about how much she and her daughter enjoyed the series. Color me cautious, I didn’t share her enthusiasm then and still remain skeptical that it’s just another series looking to profit off the teen-lit phenomenon. I mean clearly the Twilight series proved intellectually beneficial to young readers… When it comes to children’s and young adult... Read more

… In my post below I mentioned briefly that I had a strained relationship with my mom until very recently. This estrangement prevented me from developing healthy relationships with other women. I won’t elaborate on the circumstances out of respect for my mother but I will acknowledge I wasn’t the easiest daughter to raise. Shocker. Stubborn, opinionated, and extroverted, I don’t think my bookish introverted mother knew just what to make of me. At the first opportune moment I was... Read more

… While updating my sidebar I deleted all my ‘Catholic Bloggers’ link. Please do not take offense if you find your blog suddenly removed. I am in the process of restoring them under the page titled ‘Friends’. This is an excellent opportunity to make sure I have your blog address updated or to make a request that I do not link to you – I get those occasionally. I won’t judge. Promise. Read more
