Bigotry, Racism, & Fascism Did Not Win In The 2024 Election

Donald J. Trump, the 45^th president of the United States, now holds the rare distinction of also being the 47^th. As a conservate Catholic, Trump’s victory provides me with hope that most Americans (as Trump won the popular vote) do not buying into the Leftist narrative that Trump (and conservates in general) represent American bigotry, racism, and fascism. That the Harris campaign turned to this rhetoric during the final days shows how desperate Democrats were to win in 2024. By all accounts, the move to brand Trump (and conservatives in general) bigots, racists, and fascists backfired in a spectacular and dramatic way.

For this article, I lay out the real reasons why I think Kamala Harris lost the 2024 election.

Harris Lost Because…

The Democrats Refused an Open Primary

After the Democrats dumped Joe Biden, the Democrats had the option to conduct an open primary, but they just refused to do so. Instead, Harris received Biden’s delegates in an unDemocratic manner. Even fellow Democrats acknowledge (and lamented) this fact. Had the Democrats held an open primary, a stronger and more polished candidate (like Gavin Newsom) or ANYONE else, might have emerged.

The Economy

Moreover, voters vote with their pocketbooks. Record high inflation and the devaluing of the American currency make it harder on American families. Promising to implement “price controls” fell flat as Americans possessed no desire to artificially manipulate prices in the spirit of the USSR. The economy was the #1 issue this election.

The Border

A close second to the economy, the border presented an unnecessarily self-inflicted wound to the Democrat re-election bid. You cannot let over 10 million undocumented immigrants into the country and not pay a political price. Democrats paid that price on November 5^th.

Foreign Wars

The world currently presents a major issue for Democrats. Foreign failure policy after foreign failure policy reflects extremely poorly on the Biden/Harris administration. People remember when the world was not at fire under Trump.

Identity Politics

Furthermore, the Democrat’s leaning heavily into identity politics cost them with average Americans who possess no desire to see biological males in women’s sports and other spaces. Most Americans see this issue as unfair to women and a threat to Title IX.

Abortion

Democrats overplayed their hand with abortion. By appealing primarily to single, young women with this issue, Democrats alienated everyone else, especially Hispanics (almost all whom identify as Roman Catholic). Furthermore, since Democrats moved on from “safe, legal, and rare,” this issue will continue to hurt them in general elections.

Why Trump Ultimately Won in 2024

For the first time since 2004, Republicans won both the electoral college and popular vote. Why? Trump won because he presented a clear message on the issues above. So, regardless of whether you agreed with him or not, this message resonated with most of the American people. Harris lacked a clear message. Also, her refusal to do unscripted interviews meant that Americans never got know her or her polices. Add to this her rhetoric against Trump and his supporters, there’s no doubt why she lost so badly.

Final Thoughts…

To all those progressives who continue to play the bigot, race, sexist, and fascist cards—keep it up. Do not self-reflect on the points I listed above and endeavor to change. Keep pushing abortion and identity politics. Or, take the lessons learned from 2024 and change to align more with the American people.
