Our decades old purpose and vision for Centers for Spiritual Living is to “awaken humanity to its Spiritual magnificence and create a world that works for everyone.”
Recently I attended a conference in Italy hosted by the Associated Global New Thought Network, the Interreligious Peace Council and the Interreligious Engagement Project. It was a conference of around 250 spiritual and corporate leaders as well as academic theologians, professors and teachers and heads of many non-profit organizations from around the world. We came together with an agreement to discuss mutual goals with a consensus to enter into dialogue without any dogma or doctrine. The primary outcome after 5 days of discussion was an intention and agreement to work together to create a world that works for everyone. Last week I had the privilege of spending a couple of days in San Francisco with Lynn and Bill Twist and their people from the Pachamama Alliance, their focus appeared to be, to create a world that works for everyone. I’m beginning to think that there’s a theme here.
One of the magnificent effects of technology has been the increase in our ability to communicate with each other. This ability has exponentially levered our awareness of the peoples of the world to new heights and there is no indication of its slowing. With this new awareness, of the oneness of all, we are witnessing a natural evolution in the consciousness of the societal body beyond families, friends, neighbors and communities into a true caring for everyone. We are beginning to connect in an intimate and logical way with everyone who calls this little sphere home. This is the key to improving the world for everyone. This new global awareness, concern, commitment and understanding is going viral, becoming infectious and finally being understood. Joyously, it is demanding that all of us work together to bring about a world that works for everyone. I cannot express the delight and optimism I feel in this observation. What I am witnessing and what we are supporting and working for is the dissolution of the old in order to make room for the new. The putting aside of our opinions and prejudices in order to understand and embrace our similarities, this is the awakening we have been praying for. Perhaps we have finally entered a phase of life where collective consciousness sees a bigger picture and naturally, the result will be a bigger effect. I pray we are finally moving to place in understanding where all of us individually and collectively recognize that we would rather live happily than die being right.
