It completely fascinates me that I can track a package that is being sent to me.
After my computer made it clear last week that it was going to bite the dust, I asked our tech guy at church, AKA church secretary, AKA “the high and mighty and all-knowing computer guru” to go ahead and wipe the machine and start over. My documents, 24 gb of them, representing over 20 years of work, writing, messages, letters, photos and journals, were all safely backed up with an online service, so felt sure I could get everything back OK.
However, the best laid plans, as they say . . . Anyway, after some real, absolute panic that I might not actually be able to retrieve my stuff by an easy download, I decided to have the back-up service burn everything to DVD’s and ship them to me. Not cheap, but definitely worth it by easing my concerns.
They’ll be delivered this morning–just checked, and they were loaded on a FedEX truck at 8:10 a.m.
