Dieter Zander

Dieter Zander February 7, 2008

Last winter, I was part of a fun emergent gathering in San Francisco at Bruce Reyes-Chow’s church, Mission Bay Community Church.  During the lunch break, a group of us walked a half-mile to Sara Miles’s church, St. Gregory’s.  On that walk, and on the walk back, I talked with my old friend, Dieter Zander.  It was so hopeful and so affirming to talk to Dieter, who has been married and been in leadership for ten years longer than I.  With Dieter, it’s always immediately to the intimate and intense.  No small talk.  My admiration of him is boundless.

A few days ago, Dieter suffered a stroke, and he is currently sedated and recovering.  Please pray for him, his wife, Val, and their three teenage sons.

Updates on his condition HERE.
