4) How you think about tomorrow
The way we start one day is connected to the way we finish the one before. Are you going to bed anxious about all that needs to be done tomorrow? Are you lying awake at night concerned about how others will think of you or angry at what someone said to you? If so, it is not the actions of others, but the fear within you that needs attention.
People of hope are people of thankfulness. They see evidence of the hope they are pursuing and each day is a part of the journey. This does not mean they do not feel negative emotions. You can go to bed angry or sad or confused. But people of hope understand that even negative emotions and experiences are part of the bigger journey.
5) How you feel about your choices
Lastly, your approach to choosing is a key indicator of what motivates you. When we make our decisions, there are parameters around those choices. One of those is our perception. How do we perceive our ability to influence? Our responsibility? Our boundaries and ability to empower?
People of hope see their choices as opportunities rather than obligations. Each day is full of choices and choices help us to take ownership of the vision we are pursuing.
The best part of all of this is how simple it is to change. It certainly is not easy. But a life of hope is not as far away as you might thing. It begins with a vision, self-awareness, and pursuing a true perspective. As we do these things, we start to transform into people motivated by hope.
