Recommendations from my dad:
The dictionary app on the iPhone is called “Sanskrit dictionary based on Monier-Williams, Apte…” by Creative Stride. It is part of their “Academic Room” apps. I’m not sure if it exists for android phone too.
There are two apps by Krishna Varma that are great — one is the Gita and the other is called Sanskrit Primer. Again, i don’t know if they are available for android phone too.
The iTran program for Windows computers is great — it allows you to type in devanagari easily. It is available at the OM Karananda web site: http://www.omkarananda- ashram.org/Sanskrit/ itranslator99.htm for iTran99 and http://www.omkarananda- ashram.org/Sanskrit/ itranslator2003.htm for the more updated iTran2003.
There is also a large library of literature written in iTran at http://sanskritdocuments. org/doc_1_index.html
