Unleash the Hounds! (Link Roundup)

Unleash the Hounds! (Link Roundup) January 22, 2012

There are lots of articles and essays of interest to modern Pagans out there, sometimes more than I can write about in-depth in any given week. So The Wild Hunt must unleash the hounds in order to round them all up.

That’s it for now! Feel free to discuss any of these links in the comments, some of these I may expand into longer posts as needed.

I understand that relationships are organic in nature but I thought open relationships require consents of ALL parties BEFORE it becomes an issue. Newt had an affair before consenting with his 2nd wife; if wife #2’s story is correct.

I trust that, while choosing not to speak ill of the dead, you will cut some slack for less universalist, more bellicose Pagan traditions that rejoice at the death of an enemy.

I really really enjoy Sierra’s ChildWild blog. Her take on motherhood and the way she raises her daughters relieved a lot of my anxiety that I was ‘doing it wrong’ as a mom. Thanks for this link to the Salon article!

  • Exactly. He didn’t “ask her for an open relationship”. He cheated on her until he got caught, then he basically said, “Well, I like screwing two women, so either shut up about it or take your walking papers”.

Gingrich is just basically a self-serving sleazebag and five-star hypocrite. The most disgusting thing about him is that he, to this day, still holds himself as a champion for “traditional values.” He may well have polyamorous leanings deep down. I certainly can’t fault anyone for that, and I’d have some respect for him if he owned up to that and tried his best to do it the right way.

He won’t of course. He’d be the first in line to call poly people or any “alternative lifestyle” people deviants and perverts. Just like the “family values” politicians who spend all day crusading against “sodomites” and their nights cruising for anonymous hookups with male prostitutes. When he’s called out for his obvious hypocrisy, then it’s the “liberal media” who’s the bad guy for pointing it out.

  • Yeah, pretty much this. From listening to him talk and observing his actions, I honestly think he views women as commodities… interchangeable commodities at that. Not as people who deserve respect from their intimate partners. Gross.
