What If Jesus Played The Guitar?

Today, my acoustic guitar sits languishing in my closet while my beloved Stratocaster has been stolen for years (from church of all places).

But there was a time when not a day passed by in which I didn’t spend hours playing the guitar convinced that given enough time and practice I could become God’s gift to the guitar.

Shockingly, that didn’t work out so well.

But the memories came flooding back today when I stumbled upon a picture that imagined what it would be like if God’s gift to humanity was also God’s gift to the guitar.

I have to admit, it made be smile.

Of course, such as the internet is, this wasn’t the only picture that imagined our Lord and Savior as a rock god (or would it be the rock God?).

It wasn’t long before I found a guitar strumming Jesus that made me smile even more.

And then I saw soft rock Jesus.

And guitar shredding Last Supper Jesus.

And I figured that was it.

Amusing pictures of Jesus playing the guitar. Funny, but admittedly not much more than grin inducing.

But then I came across the pièce de résistance.

A gif of Jesus not just playing the guitar, but rocking out for all of creation.

And then my day was made just as it was getting started.

So, go ahead. Look at it and try not to laugh.
