Saints Of Darkness – Episode 1: Timothy’s Gift

Welcome to a new series I’m calling Saints of Darkness. It will run on Mondays from now until May 18th and feature folks who are doing really interesting, creative, and important social justice work. I’m really excited to introduce you to Melissa Greene and Ron Miller of Timothy’s Gift.

I had the chance to sit down with the two of them back in January at their church, GracePointe, in Franklin, TN and talk about why they spend so much of their time hanging out jail even though (at least to my knowledge) they’ve never been arrested.

Turns out they’ve got a deep and abiding love for folks the rest of us struggle to even be around, let alone love.

So, naturally, Ron and Melissa instantly became two of my favorite people ever and I know you’re gonna love them too.

Now, before you hit play, I have to let you know that the audio quality isn’t as great as I would like it or as great as it will be in subsequent episodes. It’s not bad. It’s just not quite up the the standard I would like. Unfortunately, I ran into a technical glitch and had to rely on the camera audio instead of the audio from the separate recorder that we used for all interviews. In other words, the sound quality will get better. I promise.

But purity of sound aside, I think you’re gonna love hearing from Melissa and Ron. They’ve got a heart for our incarcerated neighbors that’s infectious and wisdom to share that really blew me away.
