Kellyanne Conway Wants To Hear From You About The Women’s March On Washington

I was deeply honored to be able to tag along with my wife and daughters to Nashville’s version of the Million Women March On Washington this past Saturday.

Despite claims to the contrary from many who did not attend, I did not go because I love killing babies.

Nor was that the reason anyone else I know or met went either.

I went because I love my neighbors, I want their rights to be protected, I want them to feel welcomed and safe in their own country, and maybe most of all, I want my two little girls to know that they have the power to change they world for the better, they have the strength to stand up to bullies, and they have a calling to love and care for neighbors whenever and wherever they are in need.

I can’t speak to why everyone else went. There seemed to be as many reasons as there were people marching that day. But despite the multitude of causes that drove at least 3.3 million people around the world to march in protest on Sunday, White House counselor Kellyanne Conway thinks it was all pointless.

Speaking on ABC‘s “This Week” she said, “We certainly respect people’s First Amendment rights, but I frankly didn’t see the point. I mean, you have a day after he’s uplifting and unifying, and you have folks here being on a diatribe where I think they could have requested a dialogue. Nobody called me and said, ‘Hey, could we have a dialogue?’”

Well, as Jesus once said, “Ask and you shall receive.”

Or, if you would like to go one step forward, you can create a We The People petition requesting to take Ms. Conway up on her offer to have a dialogue. If such a petition were to receive 100,000 signatures, the White House would be obligated to respond.

Just to be clear, this isn’t a joke.

One of our government officials doesn’t appear to understand why a record number of people turned out to protest the day after arguably the most controversial and misogynistic president in American history was officially sworn into office.

So, I say we take Kellyanne Conway up on her offer and maybe somebody somewhere will get to have a dialogue with her.
