The Power of Persistence, Part 3: Reflections on Luke 19:1-10

Many of the people I mentioned from Luke's gospel made some effort to come face to face with Jesus. Knowing he was in their vicinity, they placed themselves physically in his presence. They made themselves present to Jesus' Presence.

The Bible repeatedly enjoins us to seek out the God who is ever seeking us, to be as persistent in responding to God as God is in seeking us out. "Ask, seek, and knock" (Lk. 11: 9). "Seek the Lord while he may be found. Call upon him while he is near. Let the wicked forsake their thoughts and the unrighteous person his ways" (Is. 55:6).

"Remember your Creator in the Days of your youth" (Eccl. 12).

If we are to seek the Lord while he may be found, when would that be?

Climb the nearest tree. He's just passing by.
