Can a Non-believer Connect with the After-Life?  VLOG

Can a Non-believer Connect with the After-Life?  VLOG December 23, 2016

As authors we often write about what we have learned and the people we have met, loved and lost along the road of life in order to connect with the readers through our emotions.  This is especially true for fictional writers because it is important to write what we know, even in a fictional setting. Some people who we admire deeply and may even be mentors might have a very different belief systems from us, or may have none at all.

So, how difficult is it to climb into the mind, body, and soul of a non-believer when you are a true believer?

During the Kat Kanavos Show on New Earth International Internet TV debut paranormal author, Steve Kemp, introduces HARRY DENNISON, a heroic firefighter defying the agony of the loss of his best friend by denying it – until it forces him to face reality that includes his doubts concerning God and the after-life.

Indianapolis-based Steve Kemp discusses his insights into one of the toughest professions on the planet – that of a firefighter. He shares firefighter tales also told in the hair-raising story about his fictional character Harry Dennison and the collection of characters based on Steve’s eighteen-year career as a firefighter.

Works of fiction based on fact can dare to travel roads that challenge the soul.

Kemp says, “Firefighting is one of the last true professions where someone can still find out what they are really made of.”

Steve’s work is based on a Captain who mentored Kemp early in his career. In the story, Harry Dennison attempts to take care of his men before he retires. While most of them are on the straight and narrow, one has developed a taste for cocaine and loose women – but he’s the least of his troubles.

Firefighters fight fires, challenges, take calls that defy logic and face their toughest opponents in the fire station, more often than not in the guise of their fellow firefighters.

This begs the question, can the constant grief and sorrow of such humanitarian based careers try men’s souls, challenge their beliefs and turn believers into non-believers, or is it all just part of God’s bigger plan?

You see,  Harry Dennison is a non-believer, but finds himself making an unbelievable connection with the afterlife. At first, the signs are slight, almost unnoticeable.

But, God has a powerful whisper that can be heard across loss, time and space.

Harry Dennison is written by a firefighter,  as a firefighter, set around the life of a firefighter, based on real firefighter events, and the challenges they face with their belief in God.
