A Power Word – A Power Year

For several years I have chosen a theme for my year and use it in my journaling and art journaling. Most times I recycle the past one with my word being BELIEVE. And if you’ve been to my office or home you know that to be loud and clear. The last few years I’ve tried out a new themes. Although I will continue to BELIEVE, I like stepping forward and coming up with a new theme. In previous years I have used INSPIRE, CREATE, SHINE, SPARKLE and HARMONY. It isn’t always easy to live a balanced life and sometimes even doing so causes an imbalance. Take a song for instance. All the instruments are playing in a harmonious fashion, everybody is on the same page, but they are ebbing and flowing to what feels natural for the song so that it sounds the best. I was trying to implement more HARMONY into my life. Another word I used was TRIUMPH. I believed that I could make my life the way I wanted to, but I wanted to triumph in the seeds that I planted.

This upcoming year be careful using words like should, could, problem, maybe, if only, I wish…. Look at the words that you use in your typical/daily vocabulary, and change them to positive words that you speak and you write. You will find that your energy will shift. Words have power to them. They have energy. When we bad-talk ourselves, we give energy to it. When we good-talk, we give energy to that too.

This year I have decided on a few words – my own RRR – REINVENTION, RESTORE and REJOICE. Now it is your time to choose your power word or words. I’ve included several words for you to look through to see if you too can choose a THEME for your year, or maybe choose a DAILY word. Be a voice, not an echo.
