Often in life we’re told to “keep ourselves together.” A sign of strength is not to suppress pain and sorrow, but to accept it and recognize it and validate it. Keeping in pain, sorrow and even anger within our hearts and souls can turn into negative energy in our lives and can turn into depression and negative thoughts.

Making du’a and crying can release a lot of that pain, sorrow, frustration and anger. Also make sincere du’a for the pain and suffering of victims of injustice and the causes you care about. It may seem futile, to offer prayers. But it’s not. It can be the best release.
