And just when you thought you were going to focus on Scottish artists in the Scottish part of the museum, the stairwells are full of Greeks and Romans busts. I’ll let you guess who some of these chaps are…

While you might have expected various paintings of John Knox, in fact what I found was a painting of a very worried Luther….


Mind you, I might look worried about my mortality too if I had to stare at a skull all day, which was sitting on my desk.
