Fact: Breakfast really is the most important meal of the day. But why?
Breakfast is literally just that, breaking the fast that your body is in from the night before. At that first meal, you give your body fuel and energy so you don’t spend the day stumbling around in a fog, possibly fighting off a headache and a bad attitude to go with it.
In addition, eating that morning meal can help you lose weight. If you skip breakfast, your body won’t process your next meal as quickly, trying to hold on to those nutrients instead of burning them right away.
According to one website, the time you invest in breakfast—even if it’s just pouring some milk over cereal—is more valuable overall than a few extra minutes of sleep.
So every morning, eat up! It’s the right way to start your day. And while you’re at it, remember to say your morning prayers. Staring the day with God sets the spiritual tone for the hours ahead.
I lie down and sleep; I wake again, for the Lord sustains me. (Psalm 3:5)
From breaking dawn to setting sun, I look to You, Lord.
