Just a reminder about this year’s FreedomFest, which bills itself as “the world’s largest gathering of free minds” and which opens tomorrow night and runs through Saturday:
I regret very much that, due to a scheduling oversight (I consented to holding an important meeting all day Saturday back in Utah without realizing the conflict), I’ll be leaving Las Vegas fairly late on Friday night and will miss the final day of FreedomFest, which is always lots of fun.
But I’ll be speaking twice before I go:
3:50 PM, Thursday — “Abraham Divided: Can the Middle East Crisis Ever Be Resolved”
9:00 AM, Friday — “Born Again in the USA: The Future of the Quakers, Mormons and Scientologists”
When my wife and I had lunch at my nephew’s house after the blessing of his baby, one of the people eating there with us was Gilbert Bonilla, who plays John Lennon in a Beatles tribute band and who is a member of my nephew’s ward. By coincidence, they’ll be performing at Planet Hollywood on Wednesday night. We may have an unavoidable conflict, but, if I can, I want to go hear them.
Here’s a little video of Gilbert Bonilla when he’s not representing John Lennon but is nonetheless playing an old Beatles tune with another of his groups:
