Although a few Latter-day Saints signed on to Trumpism early (which I find troubling and virtually incomprehensible) and even though quite a few more Latter-day Saints are reluctantly choosing Mr. Donald Trump as the lesser of two evils in the general election (which I cannot personally do, but which I thoroughly understand), on the whole Mormons have proven remarkably resistant to the appeal of this aberrant cult of aberrant personality.
“Utah’s not the only place where Trump has a Mormon problem”
And here’s a possibly related item:
“Mia Love skipping GOP convention”
In other news, one of American conservatism’s most distinguished voices has abandoned the Republican Party (having first been abandoned by it):
“George Will to leave Republican Party over Donald Trump’s impending nomination”
I understand his action, and I’ve long been considering whether I ought to take the same step. Thus far, I’ve decided not to. After the Trumptastrophe in November, the Party may perhaps still be salvageable.
