Patheos Blogs in the Biblioblog Top 50

In the past, blogs on sites such as Patheos which host multiple blogs have been left to the side in the rankings, as a result of Alexa and other statistic sources not ranking blogs separately but only the site as a whole.

Then along came Steve Caruso.

Not only has he created the Biblioblog Reference Library and taken over the job of ranking the blogs, but he also developed a tracker to enable blogs like this one to participate.

He has provided instructions over at the Biblioblog Reference Library.

Let me mention that the javascript version will not work on non self-hosted WordPress blogs, and on this one, I had to remove the final backslash (/) in the image’s address for it to work. Leave a comment if you need help or further clarification with that.

Now you can also see current rankings moment by moment, and not just manually calculated at the end of the month!

Thanks, Steve, for all your work on this!

I wish there was a way to filter out all the nonsense about the “Top 50″ from my RSS reader. Around once a month many otherwise-readable blogs become quite inane with posts on these rankings. Who cares?

I suspect no one really cares. And sometimes we have rather inane discussions about the fact that we don’t really care about the rankings. :-)

James, don’t know if you heard: The Friendly Atheist has joined Patheos.  He won’t be on Biblioblogs, but you will have company.

I heard, and think it speaks well of Patheos that his is one of the blogs they invited, and that he accepted the invitation.
